[Architecture & Interior Design with Character]

We combine architecture and interior design into a harmonious whole –
thoughtful, unconventional, and full of character.
Our projects span from the North Sea coast to far beyond national borders – realized worldwide, always with a fine sense for identity, function, and atmosphere.
All of this with North German clarity, an eye for the essentials – and East Frisia at heart.

[Architecture & Interior Design with Character]

Since 2005, we at Deeken-Henke Architekten in Esens have been creating spaces that do more than just look good: they tell stories, reflect corporate culture, and foster genuine encounters.
We believe that innovation needs space – space that inspires, surprises, and refuses to follow a formula. That’s why we design places where communication thrives, ideas can take flight, and your brand becomes truly tangible.

Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Architect Wilfried Henke has been self-employed since 2012.

His career path led him through renowned architecture firms such as Gruber+Kleine-Kraneburg in Frankfurt, with projects including the Office of the Federal President in Berlin and the IG Metall high-rise in Frankfurt, to Butz+Wittenberg in Hanover, with projects like the Samoa Spa in Warnemünde and the ECE Centers in Magdeburg and Plauen – and finally to Bahlo Koenke Stoßberg + Partner, where he was involved in projects such as the AOK buildings in Hildesheim and Braunschweig as well as the regional government headquarters in Münster.

Fascinated by the complexity of interior construction, he moved into the cruise ship and superyacht sector – an intense period at Reuter in Esens. There, he oversaw the outfitting of the AIDA club ships and other cruise ships, as well as projects in the exclusive superyacht sector – with a focus on design, engineering, and project management.

In 2012, he founded the firm DID Architekten und Innenarchitekten together with Melanie Deeken-Henke – the logical consequence of the desire to unite architecture and interior design independently and on equal terms.

His focus: architectural consulting, client representation, and concept architecture – individual, targeted, and with a clear stance.

Dipl.-Ing. Interior Architect (FH) Melanie Deeken-Henke has been self-employed since 2005. During her studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Hildesheim, she completed internships abroad in Los Angeles with Pizzulli Architects and Steven Ehrlich Architects. After graduating in 2001, she worked for three years at Partner-Ship-Design in Hamburg. There, she was involved both as part of a team and independently in the development of spatial structures, experience worlds, and themed areas on the AIDA club ship as well as other cruise ships.

This period laid the foundation for state-of-the-art design, handling large-scale projects, creative versatility, international influences, distinctive expression, and the management of complex challenges.

The founding of her own interior architecture firm in 2005 was a logical next step. Since 2013, the firm has offered not only distinctive interior architecture but also identity-shaping architecture.

Starting November 1, 2025, the range of services will expand to include color consulting as part of a holistic interior architecture approach – upon request, also according to the principles of Feng Shui in collaboration with a master from Taiwan.
